Tips To Get Fit

7 May 2011 by , No Comments

Everyone is looking for quick ways to get fitter and healthier. Unfortunately there is no quick fix way to lose the weight and get in shape. But there are a few tips to getting fit which will help you progress quickly with this.

The first tip to getting fit is setting yourself a structured programme of exercise. But make sure it is not overly aggressive, start off slowly and build up your exercise. Make sure it is varied and pushes your body over the weeks, exercise won’t help if your stagnating at week one instead of pushing forward.

Another tip to get fit is to set yourself realistic goals, there’s no point in setting yourself unobtainable goals which will demoralise you. Instead set yourself realistic ones that will also challenge you, that way you will get that sense of achievement once you reach them.

It’s important to work out regularly, it doesn’t matter how well thought out your fitness programme is and your goals are if you don’t exercise at least 3 times a week and make sure you keep to the plan. As long as you are accountable for your exercise you will soon get in to the routine.

When exercising it is important to eat well. While you want to burn the calories your body won’t work at its best unless you are putting energy in to it. If you don’t eat your body will store anything you consume as fat which is counterproductive to your ultimate goal.

Another tip to remember when getting fit is to rest your body. Rest and recovery is one of the most overlooked part of any exercise routine. If you don’t let your body rest it won’t have chance to recover after the exercise, so instead of building your body up you will in fact be running it down which as well all know is not the best way to get and stay fit.

Exercising and Drinking Water

Exercising is something that any fitness regimen can not do without. If you want to stay fit then you will need to do something with your body, it will not happen overnight and it will not happen just because you have adapted a proper diet. If you want to stay fit or lose weight then you will want to take part in activities such as swimming, jogging, cycling, and other activities that stimulate your cardiovascular system. Cardio workouts increase the heart rate and dilate blood vessels allowing hyper-oxygenated blood to reach organs and cause them to work more efficiently. In doing this you will also boost your metabolism which will help in the way your body burns the food that you put into it.

Drinking water is also a great helper in trying to either lose weight or stay fit. Water has no calories so it can not contribute to weight gain at all. In fact, if water is consumed ice cold it will actually burn a few calories as the body heats it up. Drinking water before meals, just a glass or two, will also reduce the amount of food that you can consume. Another reason why water is a great addition to any healthy diet is that most times the hunger pains that people feel can be attributed to thirst and drinking a tall glass of water when you feel hungry may just solve your problem altogether. Drinking about eight to ten glasses of water is generally recommended.

The Importance of Eating Right

For most people it is a common desire to look good. Looking good is invariably linked to feeling good about yourself. Self esteem is highly influenced by a person’s body image. By eating right and exercising regularly you can ensure that you are able to look in the mirror and like what you see. However, most people do not fully understand the concept of eating right. Eating right does not mean cutting carbs out of your diet or depriving yourself of certain foods. What eating right means is not gorging your self and eating proper portions at regularly scheduled intervals. If you want to either get or stay thin you must be able to ensure that your metabolism is up and running and not lagging at all.

Eating three regularly sized meals every day at around the same time will give your body time to properly digest food that it has consumed, making it possible for your metabolism to not lag at all and be as efficient as it is meant to be. This may sound like it could make you hungry, but it is also okay to eat a couple nutritious snacks like fruit, yogurt or granola in order to sate the hunger. Drinking water also makes it so that you do not consume any extra calories like you would with sodas and juice. Another benefit of water is that if you drink a glass before you eat the amount of food you are able to consume will become way less than had you not had a glass of water.
